This weekend, the book club hosted a “Once Upon a Baby Shower” in honor of Rachel S. who is expecting a baby boy this spring!
Each person brought a children’s book-inspired dish to share. Our menu included:
Green Deviled Eggs (Green Eggs and Ham)
Cheesy Grits (“bowl of mush” from Goodnight Moon)
Fruit Pizza & Meat & Cheese Tray (The Very Hungry Caterpillar)
Multi-Colored Goldfish (Rainbow Fish)
Muffins (If You Give A Moose A Muffin)
Veggie Platter (Peter Rabbit)
Cookies & Milk (If You Give A Mouse A Cookie)
Plus an awesome “book” cake and green punch (because the party was on St. Patrick’s Day!)
Sarah N., our hostess, made the adorable alphabet-card decoration and the cake – wow! Sarah A. had the great idea to create a ready-made children’s book library…she’s been scouring thrift shops and spent a ton of time washing books and cleaning off price tags.
We also played Baby Scattergories, Children’s Book charades, and a round of Daddy Trivia. Great night, can’t wait to meet Baby S.!
